Welcome to Healthy Families, where our mission is to nurture resilient, healthy families right here in St. Joseph County, Indiana. We understand the journey of parenting is both joyful and challenging. That’s why we’re committed to standing by your side, offering supportive, judgment-free home visiting services designed to strengthen parent-child bonding and enhance child well-being.​

Our approach is backed by over 30 years of research, with findings published in more than 35 peer-reviewed articles. The evidence is clear—families participating in Healthy Families America (HFA) experience significant, positive impacts across all aspects of parenting and child development. These benefits are recognized by rigorous assessments including 14 randomized control trials and a positive review by the Home Visiting Evidence of Effectiveness (HomVEE) project.​

What is Healthy Families?

Healthy Families helps parents of newborn babies or expectant parents by offering support and information about child development and what to expect as a new parent.

Parenting requires a lot from parents, and Healthy Families support specialists are here to help. Support specialists visit families at home on a regular basis to provide information, tools, and encouragement to be the best parent possible!

​We help parents develop and achieve goals related to what is most important to them, whether it’s school, work, housing, childcare, health, relationships, or other life skills.

Who can be a part of Healthy Families?

Any parent in the St. Joseph County area with a child three months old or younger, or expectant mothers, may sign up for this free program. Participation is always voluntary.
