Immediate Supervisor: Executive Director, Family & Children’s Services
JOB OBJECTIVE
To provide leadership to Healthy Families staff and maintain quality programming as set by the Healthy Families America Credentialing Standards in keeping with Family & Children’s Services mission to empower individuals and families by promoting human growth and dignity, and preventing abuse through advocacy, education, counseling, and support services.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Master’s degree in public health or human services administration or fields related to working with children and families.
Required Experience: Minimum 3 years direct management experience within human services program sector. Administrative experience in human service or related program(s), such as Healthy Families, home-based, social work, or early childhood programs. Mastery of program compliance and data management. Demonstrated success managing staff.
Preferred Experience: LCSW or LMHC preferred.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS: Must be physically and mentally able to perform essential functions, possess sufficient physical strength and energies required to effectively engage in activities with children, and support and sustain the physical environment. Ability to manage a variety of tasks amidst frequent interruptions. Willingness to pursue professional growth through workshops, classes, reading, and in-service trainings. Willingness to travel occasionally for professional development opportunities, and as a representative of the agency.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Coordinate and implement Healthy Families St. Joseph County.
- Maintain quality programming by adhering to the credentialing standards of Healthy Families America.
- Coordinate meetings and provide leadership to Healthy Families St. Joseph County Advisory Group.
- Prepare self-assessment and facilitate site visit for accreditation through HFA and/or HFI.
- Provide regular, scheduled reflective supervision to Healthy Families supervisors.
- Facilitate weekly staff meetings for Healthy Families St. Joseph County staff.
- Recruit, hire, train, supervise and evaluate Healthy Families staff.
- Develop and maintain contact with community agencies as they relate to Healthy Families St. Joseph County.
- Assist in grant writing to procure funding.
- Assure record keeping required for funding sources.
- Provide outcome reports required for Board of Directors, Advisory Group, HFI, DCS, and other funders.
- Provide ongoing intensive clinical supervision to direct service staff as necessary.
- Provide crisis intervention, assessment, treatment planning, brief and long-term support services, referral/linkage and group facilitation for clients referred/accepted into Healthy Families St. Joseph County. Ensure services are clinically sound, ethical, and rooted in best practice.
ADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES
- Arrange physical environment for group sessions; chairs, tables, make coffee, mix paint, etc.
- Provide consultation to other Healthy Families staff.
- Attend staff meetings, individual clinical supervision, and community meetings as required.
- Attend all required Healthy Families Indiana meetings and trainings.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Crisis intervention, assessment and evaluation, treatment planning skills.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft office, Excel, database management systems, and social media platforms.
- Demonstrated enthusiasm, initiative, creativity, and flexibility.
- Demonstrated ability to work with people from diverse racial/cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to maintain positive working relationships with staff.
- Ability to abide by strict code of confidentiality according to legal and professional standards.
- Ability to maintain high degree of sensitivity and responsiveness to client needs.
- Willingness to carry out agency goals and policies.
- Solid understanding of and experience in supervising and motivating staff, as well as providing support to staff in stressful work environments.
- Knowledge of infant and child development and family support systems.
- Experience with family services that embrace the concepts of trauma-informed care, family-centered and strength-based service provision.
- Knowledge of prevention and early intervention strategies for child abuse and neglect., including maternal-infant health and dynamics of abuse and neglect.
- Experience in providing services to culturally diverse communities/families.
- Experience in home visitation with a strong background in prevention services to the 0-3 age population.
